Threat to my life

I received threatening calls and emails from an unidentified person and a few cops when I was in California, Sunnyvale area. I never complained to the police then, now that the threat looms larger and larger, I should take aggressive action else I will be consumed. I wonder what these people are really upto and what they attain by setting such goals. Anyways I need to protect myself.
