I am a geek but I am not making money out of technology at the moment. I am working on some of these but still haven't made any inroads so far. There used to be a time when I used to talk about math and engineering problems all along without even considering my friend's choices. I know only technology, hence I can talk in only one language. I used to use more of the technical jargons than English when I conversed with my fellow Australians, Americans and Italians. Talking in such a lingo takes me to heaven and accomplishing such tasks puts me in bliss. I wish god showers his blessing to continue my acts in such a fashion.

I received threatening calls and emails from an unidentified person and a few cops when I was in California, Sunnyvale area. I never complained to the police then, now that the threat looms larger and larger, I should take aggressive action else I will be consumed. I was just reading about the retirement from cricket of all forms by Vinod Kambli, I am wondering if I should juxtapose myself in that direction as well. I have been looking for ways to boot strap a company and make money and this has been going on for quite sometime, still there hasn't been any significant progress made at all. I just got turned down by a company from Netherlands for technical reasons. A few years back, approximately 5, I would consider myself as a hard core techie who could solve any of the challenging electrical engineering problems that you can find on earth. Is the green card fever very similar to the racial apartheid that occurred in South Africa. The United States has been utilizing the foreign born workers in a very shrewd manner. Though the Americans lament about loss of jobs, in a sense they benefit through cheap labor. And these people are employing the best to do some of the meanest low end jobs. This definitely is a boost for their economy, for it not only helps them attain their ends, but also preserve their white collar men from stooping to the lower end. The racial apartheid in South Africa pretty much swept off people in a decade of era, they were completely isolated and left unnoticed, though there was so much happening around at that time. Such is the scenario with the green card as well, while there is so much exciting happening, the people queued up for the card will have their skills hammered and hampered in growth.

Programming, I would say is the ability to visualize in the domain of the problem. It can vary between any levels of abstraction and having a profound ability to dig into the nature of the problem will help the development to be easy. The ability to succinctly present the problem in the domain of your choice and attack it with the tools in your gadget, which could take any form of algorithms depending on your mode of visualization holds the key to solving some of the complex problems in this world. Take facepack for example, its a social networking site that helps people relate to each other. The way this was accomplished was utilizing the graph theory which presents the attributes of the people, their understanding of their surroundings and the degree of connection. If you have the ability to associate this with the mathematical rigours, it definitely helps to extend this even beyond to other applications, and bingo, I have my startup ready that makes billions.

The moment it lands in the footsteps of Enron, not much can be done to recover the lost reputation and glory. Personally I have had instances with reckless management, while if it is lackluster, atleast it can be tolerated but not if it reckless. These are the possible scenarios with a reckless management

Responsibilities are already decided without consultation
No sign of any reporting formalities, this tantamounts to introducing black money in a normal market
Misuse of power, confusion, direction less and blaming other parties for the problems
Lack of recognition, eye sight on profit only without due consideration to employee morale and interests. AVOID SUCH COMPANIES AT ALL COSTS.

If India was a super power

If India was a super power, the amount of control that she can wield would be tremendous. While the United States boasts of superior economy and higher military power, it certainly lacks in its ability to sustain and develop technological ability without external support. The ability of the United States on Science and Technology is not completely self reliant. The more they lament about their inferiority, the more they divert their attention towards drawing people from other parts of the world. While they boast of having a superior system of education, but from what I noticed, even this comes through contribution from the rest of the world. An analogy to such a situation would be to run an institutionalized bank without the think tank, the returns of which is the core-intelligence necessary for sustenance. I have been through instances where the moment you start exhibiting your accumulated skills in which we are above par excellence, the Mitchell's, the Johnson's and the Katie's natural instinct would be to react to these through their fore-fathers who have inherited and own the land or unleash their status in the form of power. This brings me to the current Bush regime, does Iran produce WMD, are they harboring the attackers of peace, are they a threat to humanity and the world. Will Libya and Syria surrender without putting up a fight. The answers to all these questions lies in the above said details, raising the infrastructure and the economy through display of power with acts that tantamount to plundering. Is this like, my son needs a candy and he will pay for it later.The real answer to these idiosyncratic acts would be to respond in a similar way,block the United States from technological progress, impose sanctions to the Moore's, Filby's and the Welch's to pay an exorbitant fees in return for conducting business and promote the progress of the nation through tie-ups and partnerships with these communities, making sure they commit to it. While they still rely on the talent of other nations and rue their inferiority, how can they still conduct themselves authoritatively.

I have been lucky to be involved with some of the most challenging aspects of electronics as it involves a lot of concepts and possibility for lots of inventions. Doppler effect and multi path fading are some of the obstacles that any wireless community faces, hence designing around these aspects provides a vast amount of opportunities. Also solutions related to these can go for big bucks if the business case is presented well. Currently I am involved with low power digital design of the entire baseband and MAC protocols of the channel, its similar to Bluetooth and piconets, where devices close by to the master communicate through specified protocols, power consumption is a big issue with the kind of hand held devices that we currently have, hence there is a big scope for innovation.

I would want to talk about this topic "Freakonomics", its an interesting analysis that brings into light of the influence of subtle actions that transforms the society in all possible ways. It presents pretty much our everyday life happenings, the circumstances and other influences that shape and re-shape us as we move along. This has been correlated to statistics/economics similar to cause/effect, the similarities between different thinkers and their reaction to real life. I think the author has done an extensive research in juxtaposing people belonging to different art, of different curiosities and the similarity with which they deal when presented real life situations. Though the circumstances are different, the way common reactions happen to be brought from them raises a lot of questions. For instance, comparisons are made between sumo wrestlers and schoolteachers, the way they see the incentives alluring enough to commit unwanted intentions. It also talks about real estate agents, how they deal with buyers and sellers, the way the dealings are subtly closed as the agent enjoys the luxury of enormous information. It goes and talks about how the world is filled with criminals, and what makes someone to be a criminal and how it can be contained from the roots. What do drug dealers have in common with the corporate world, the ways of racking up money in the undercover world and what’s the motivation that nurtures and encourages them to take up such illegitimate tasks which under normal circumstances one would resist. Also it deals with what makes a perfect parent and how it shapes an individual with the kind of upbringing. It does a lot of correlation and comparison between people belonging to different schools of thought, and the incentives that lure them towards actions that define them.

While Einstein has proposed all the possible theories that he can on this earth, people still ponder what he exactly meant and where on earth he lived and predicted such magical concepts applicable to several applications. I had a short (actually it was fiery) with my room-mate and we ran into possible conclusions on this theory. Say there is a coil of cylinder moving in one direction and a ray of light from the other. Obviously both the objects have a mass associated with them, but here the cylinder recoils but the light is propagating in the forward direction. Now, if say the light particles doesn't have any mass, I would shone light onto Antartica sitting from here with a torch. But the light travels faster than the cylinder and this is associated with the momentum. You can come up with all possible associations with energy generated, for there is always a law of conservation. Yes I am drunk, but it was just lemonade.

Power reduction craze in chip technology

This is an interesting phase in the industry on chip designs. The entire semiconductor industry is craving for power efficient designs, as they cater to various applications that require low power. While there are many ways in which one could escape performance hit as they could bin down their products and cut down the price, but battery life and heat radiation is becoming a bigger concern. Imagine having to carry a laptop, that radiates enormous heat, I would rather look for ways to convert the thermal power back into electrical energy using a thermo-electric device. This is an interesting area as well and lots of research is being carried out for this type of energy conversion. In some of the big server blades that forms a rack of clusters, and serves as a compute farm, the energy dissipation is mollified by coolant's. But within a integrated circuit, you do have a few provisions but when its blowing over the roof, as we can predict from the technology migration, other alternative ways of combating power dissipation will have to be found out. I see a lot of scope at the system level, though I would want to keep this confedential, the impact is going to an explosion in the number of devices. A variety of techniques have been suggested and tried out at the circuit and process level, but there is still something left out from an architectural perspective. As the number of applications augment, so too is the chip complexity to sustain the interests of the end users. Working on these trade offs is going to be a lot more fun as we move more towards analog, because of technology complexity even from a digital perspective.

This is the time where you relish the weather to the maximum, for not only it provides you all the comfort of the nature, but you do get to do a better sight seeing as well. The colors of the leaves, the changes in their habitat, seasons do play a very important role in the activities that everyone seeks to do. After undergoing a horrendous summer, some do enjoy it as well, this comes of as a time to explore. If I had been living in Chicago or Minnesota, I wouldn't relish much, and summer would be a great time to be. I have been reading the works of poets lately, yes Blake and Shakespeare's ability to translate any topic into words similar to water contained in a closed pipe waiting to gush out. I have another scientific politics to read this week, on "India's nuclear bomb" by Petrovich. Somehow I get engrossed in these kind of topics, as they provide you the kick of the technology dominating the scene in national politics and the ways they preserve, conserve and utilize it to their advantage.
I watched this movie "Manchurian candidate" last week and found it to be on the lines of any other military-politics genre. There has been a whole lot similar to this, except that the characters portrayed are different. But anyways it was good to see the way, people transcend to any level, to re-arrange the synaptic connections of the neurons to alter the personality of the person and assume a role that he wasn't originally suppose to undertake. My wallet is losing its weight, and with the world's blessing, hope I find my work that I love very soon.

My transition, venture and being back to the land of dreams

This was a week which went fast in all ways, first of all I attended one of my cousins wedding to start with. I have been continuously reading all day along, as if this has been my main priority which will get me ahead. I was always contemplating about the list of opportunities that I would pursue and in that process, I went too far into utopia. Sometimes life comes at you very fast, hence all these wouldn't even materialize in the long term, hence short term step by step growth and monitoring will be the key to progress. One fine morning, I finally decided to make the call and join the company that I had in my bags, but untouched so far, in order to explore other possible options. Now this has opened me a whole suite of opportunities in technical consulting. Korean airlines was decent enough, and I was surprised by the quality of food, it was better than what I had thought. Adjacent to my seat was a Korean, who resides in Seoul, he seems to be doing venture capitalism and consulting for a audio company. I was boasting about the list of technologies that I am aware of, and the list of offers that I can run into, with the if's and future plans. I provided him a brief overview of how San Francisco and I believe he pretty much got the hang of it. I finally landed in the land of dreams, very eager to move on to explore and dictate my prowess.

Formulating a system, universal applicability

Formulating a system, is it a boon or a curse. A system when formed, it affects individuals in all possible ways, both positive and negative. If you bitch about a system, the system will get you no matter what, is that true ? Going against the system is pretty much playing down the potential of the procedures, policies, principles of the individuals in a system, the amount of resistance is tremendous and overcoming such a one is not a mean task. The system once formulated continuously monitors and makes sure it is intact and any scar when left immediately get's noticed and leads to evacuavations of the violators.

On a different talk, India seems to be forging ahead with their performance against the English in cricket, it's been a while that Indian people get to cherish such a wonderful display. Sania Mirza seems to be cruising along well, but still she has a long way to go to be among the elite but the day is not far away, take my word. All the Indians back her, as she is one among millions who has taken the racket and challenged the best.

The nuclear deal is still being debated, there is a lot of opposition with it's agreement, but I have a closed opinion about it now, let's see where it takes. We still have the freedom to produce fissionable materials out of thorium.

Hello, what's up?

This is my first post after a while. While I lax myself, shrugging off my work responsibilities, my dreams get bigger, without much progress though. My enthusiasm for French/Spanish is growing, but I am going through the rigours without a tutor. I am not sure what Einstein or Newton would have done to mathematics and physics, had they been politicians and dived into a series of linguistics and politics. The precious time, which I wouldn't get back is waning away, my ideas looming larger and larger, I realise I am very short on time to pursue it. I am working on Engineering physics off late, with an ambitious motive to nail down the gory details of the laws of the universe, from a scientific perspective.
